The Elliott House provides a number of freebies, including continental breakfast (served in the courtyard or in-room), free bicycles to explore downtown, free Wi-Fi, and free wine and cheese every evening.
Steps from Elliott House is King St, the prime spot for Charleston shopping. Just around the corner from our inn, Rainbow Row is famous for its pastel colored homes with overflowing flower boxes and a slew of restaurants and cafes. The inn's 25 rooms are decorated in classic southern style. In 2018, The Elliott House Inn underwent extensive renovations pairing rich history with redesigned Southern chic rooms, newly renovated pergola and outdoor furnishings. In 1861, a huge fire burned nearly one-third of Charleston, including 78 Queen Street. Though many did not rebuild immediately, O’Mara constructed a three-story masonry single house shortly thereafter using salvaged bricks from the fire.
Due to the historic significance of the property, the Elliott House is not required to have ADA-compliant rooms. Additionally, the rooms are individually owned condos, so each owner is responsible for room features. Still, the hotel does offer a few ground-floor units that have grab rails in the bathrooms.
Turn left on Meeting Street and travel 1.5 miles to Queen Street. Turn right on Queen Street and The Elliott House Inn is ½ block on the right. Turn right on Meeting Street and travel 1.5 miles to Queen Street. Guests at the Elliott House Inn get free wine at the evening manager's reception. Next door, 82 Queen (which provides in-room dining for guests at the inn) has an extensive wine and cocktail menu as well. The great downtown location means that a variety of bars are nearby.
